A transparent fireproof paint has been developed

In Van, Iranian engineers have developed a transparent, thin, and chemical-free fireproof paint that can be applied to any surface.

Iranian mechanical engineer and Turkish representative of the European Inventors Federation, Dr. Mehrdad Fojlaley, along with chemical engineer Rouzbeh Moshrefi, worked on developing the paint for five years.

The team working in a workshop in the İpekyolu district developed the water-based, transparent, thin, and chemical-free fireproof paint, which can be applied to all kinds of materials and surfaces and withstands flames of up to 2000 degrees Celsius.

The paint, which turns into foam when burned, preventing the fire from growing and spreading without causing any damage to the surface it is applied to, is now ready for mass production.

The fireproof paint, which has obtained the necessary certifications, is planned to be sold in the domestic market first, followed by exportation to many countries under a Turkish brand.

  • Successfully passed fire resistance tests -

Fojlaley told an AA reporter that the R&D process for the paint, which was developed using nanotechnology, has been completed and that it is ready to enter the market.

Fojlaley stated that the transparent paint will be introduced to the world for the first time, and added:

"This fireproof paint can be used on all types of materials and structures (concrete, prefabricated, wood, and steel materials). It is resistant to flames of up to 2000 degrees Celsius. It has successfully passed fire resistance tests. We have received test results from accredited laboratories. We have obtained our CE and ISO certifications. Now, as a Turkish brand, it is ready to be sold both in the domestic market and abroad. When we apply this paint to materials, it prevents oxygen contact and stops the material from 'breathing' during a fire. Later, it turns into foam, meaning when it is exposed to temperatures over 120 degrees Celsius, it foams up and insulates the material."

Fojlaley noted that organic and mineral materials are used in the production of the paint and stated, "There are no chemical substances. Therefore, the smoke produced during a fire does not harm people, and the ash has no negative impact on the environment. It is completely water-based paint. It can be mixed with normal water-based paints for use on walls. It can also be used on oil-based paints. This paint has been made for the first time in Turkey and even in the world and will be presented to the world in transparent form for the first time. We have patented it in Turkey. Mass production will start in Van under a Turkish brand. Hopefully, we will export to both domestic and international markets. Thanks to this product, we will ensure the safe protection of lives and property during fires worldwide.
